MYANMAR RUN AT BAGAN
On 15 December 2019, Myanmar hosted its first international friendship run. The event was held in Bagan, in line with the recent addition of Bagan as Myanmar’s second World Heritage Site UNESCO, therefore titled “Myanmar Run at Bagan”. The run aims to promote the “One Belt, One Road” initiative engaging global participants, to promote healthy living, to encourage friendship. Gathering foreign local running enthusiasts, corporates, the run supports tourism development Myanmar raises funds the needy. A total of 300 participants from 15 nationalities participated in the run last year, with 2 categories: the 10 Km challenge the 5 km fun run. Along with running, the participants experienced Bagan’s attractions, culture, the finish line prizes. Supporting this run was, the Myanmar Tourism Federation, Myanmar Hotelier Association. The main sponsors the event were RVi Group, Airline Sponsor, Myanmar national Airlines.
